MAJOR (RETIRED) CARLA JONES

Carla graduated from Jackson State University (Jackson, MS) on a Full 4-Year Army R.O.T.C. Scholarship as an Accounting Major with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Carla also received a Masters of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University in Saint Louis, Missouri. Carla served the United States Army as a Human Resources Officer (42H) and retired at the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in 2022. MAJ (Retired) Jones has served the military community for 20+ years. 

MAJ (Retired) Jones’ previous assignments on active duty include Cadet Troop Leadership Training (CTLT)- Fort Knox, KY (Rappel Instructor- Cadre); 83rd Ordnance Battalion- Kure, Japan (Battalion S1); 801st Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division- Fort Campbell, KY (Battalion S1); HQ, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division- Fort Campbell, KY (Brigade Strength Manager), 16th Special Troops Battalion , 16th Sustainment Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command- Baumholder, Germany (Battalion S1); HQ, 43rd Adjutant General Reception Battalion – Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri (Company Commander), Alpha Company, 43rd Adjutant General Reception Battalion - Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri (Company Commander), HQ, 101st Sustainment Brigade- Fort Campbell, KY (Brigade S1), HQ, 101st Airborne Division (Division G-1 HROC). She is a graduate of the Adjutant General Basic Officer Leadership Course- Fort Jackson, SC; Airborne School- Fort Banning, GA; Lean Six Sigma (GB)-Kaiserslautern, Germany, Master Resiliency Course- Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Resident Command and General Staff College (CGSC). 

MAJ (Retired) Jones had the distinct honor of participating in Operation Enduring Freedom XIII where she deployed to Afghanistan as the Brigade Strength Manager for the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Currahee), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Carla also deployed to Kuwait with the 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). 

MAJ (Retired) Jones’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NATO Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), German Armed Force Proficiency Badge- Silver and Airborne Parachutist Badge.
